FAQ
Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating, which can occur in various parts of the body, such as the underarms, hands, feet, and face.
Treatments include prescription antiperspirants, oral medications, Botox injections, iontophoresis, and in some cases, surgical options like sympathectomy.
Botox works by blocking the nerves that stimulate sweat glands, significantly reducing sweating in the treated area.
The effects typically last between 4 to 6 months, after which the treatment can be repeated as needed.
Side effects vary by treatment. Botox may cause temporary muscle weakness or soreness at the injection site. Prescription antiperspirants may cause skin irritation. More invasive treatments can have more significant side effects.
Results from Botox injections can be seen within a few days to a week. Other treatments, like antiperspirants or oral medications, may take a bit longer to show full effects.
The cost varies depending on the type of treatment chosen. Botox treatments, for example, are typically priced based on the number of units used. A consultation will provide a detailed pricing structure based on the selected treatment.
